NORTH VANCOUVER RENOVATION PROPOSAL
SUMMARY
It’s a privilege to be entrusted with a church building. As church spaces in our city continue to disappear, we’ve been blessed to have a home to call our own on the North Shore. It provides us space to gather and operate vibrant ministries throughout the week, facilitate two other church communities and provide needed community space for our neighbours.
It’s our aspiration to ensure that our building is welcoming, comfortable and well-utilized. Good stewardship of this space has been entrusted to us. We’ve made great initial strides in our vision to update our facility but are asking for your partnership in continuing the renovations.
We invite you to partner with us to complete the renovations needed to maximize our capacity to do meaningful ministry for years to come. We’ve considered each space and department in our church and have laid out a four-phased project, including estimated costs, subject to change as we progress. Over the next few years, we’re asking our community to donate approximately $380,000 toward our North Vancouver Building Fund.
As money is received, projects will be actioned.

Main Level Bathrooms And Preschool-Aged Kids Ministry Wing
We will update the bathroom flooring, paint, counters, sinks, and mirrors and re-open for use on Sunday. In the preschool-aged kids area, we will replace carpets, repaint all surfaces and install new blinds.

Landscaping
We will update our main entrance landscaping with fresh grass and new plants. We will also re-plant our side and parking lot planters. A professional landscaping company has created an approved plan for implementation.

Balcony Audio and House Lighting
We will improve the sound experience in the balcony, integrate all lighting controls and complete our side and back storage spaces for equipment.

PHASE TWO

Kids Ministry Environments
We will install a permanent, multi-functional, lower-level check-in station for The Way Kids, reconfigure lower-level classrooms to optimize function, decorate and update classroom furnishings, and repurpose existing storage spaces to maximize functionality.
Parents Room
We will create a creative and comfortable space where parents with young children can be with their children and still experience the service.
Acoustics and Technology Improvements
We will add acoustic panelling, resolve our projector vibration, improve stage lighting, and improve wifi throughout the facility.
Next Phase of Auditorium Renovation
We will make our auditorium more inviting by adding warm architectural design elements to both the stage and the room.
PHASE THREE

Bathroom Facilities
We will completely re-do our lower level main bathrooms, including flooring, paint, fixtures, partitions and lighting.
Infrastructure
We will install a washer and dryer to facilitate the needs of our kitchen, hospitality and facilities teams. We will purchase 60 new chairs for lower-level events.
Auditorium Atmospheric Lighting
We will add fully controllable atmospheric lighting in the main auditorium to allow for maximum functionality and versatility for special services and events.
PHASE FOUR
EST. $60,000
Lobby Extension and Office Updates
We will open up the lobby to the current office wing, creating additional space and access to our accessible washroom, and update our office wing to optimize use for staff and team mid-week meetings, workspace, etc.
Building Decorating
We will use photography, graphics, and art throughout the facility to creatively tell the ongoing story of what God is doing at The Way Church.
