We are inviting young leaders from across Canada to join our team for 9 months as a part of our Ministry Apprenticeship program. Our apprenticeship program is designed to give individuals who feel a call towards vocational ministry, hands-on experience working with The Way Church team. The apprenticeship would include a job description built around the needs of the church and the gifts of the apprentice, on-going development through mentorship and access to The Way College classes, and meaningful opportunities to participate in the life of the church.

We are looking for individuals who have a deep love for Jesus and the church in Canada, who have graduated post-secondary or have 4+ years of ministry experience.

The apprenticeship begins in September and ends at the end of May.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Each apprentice will gain real-world ministry experience with a job description built around the apprentices experience and interest. On top of that, the apprenticeship includes 2 The Way College courses and books, on-going mentorship and pastoral care. Development consists of roughly 5 hours a week on top of working hours.

  • This year’s apprentices will be expected to work 20 hours a week in a variety of ministry roles. Each apprentices job description will vary depending on interest and experience.

  • Yes! Ministry Apprentices will be paid a monthly stipend of $2000.

  • In previous years, because of our partnership with Calling Ministries, we were able to offer housing for our apprentices. Unfortunately due to renovations happening, we are unable to offer housing this year. To compensate we have decreased working hours and increased the monthly stipend.

  • The apprenticeship lasts from the beginning of September 2024 until the end of May 2025.

    It was an honour for me to join this wonderful ministry team as I have grown spiritually and learned how to practically apply my gifts. Before applying, I was searching for an opportunity to commit myself to vocational ministry. When I found out about this apprenticeship, the Lord led me to apply. God has opened this door to serve him in these past nine months as I have dedicated my time and learning. I had the opportunity to give and contribute in my small way to The Way church community, while being able to receive and grow in my character and personal calling. This experience has been very formative for me and I will be forever grateful to God that he has led me here.
