THE WAY CHURCH
Ministry Apprenticeship
As a church, we aim to continually invest in the next generation of leaders—identifying, developing, & sending out young ministers for the sake of our city and nation.
The Ministry Apprenticeship program is designed to give individuals who feel a call towards vocational ministry hands-on experience working with The Way Church team. Successful applicants will join our staff team for 12 months, learning & putting skills into practice as they discern a call towards full-time ministry.
The apprenticeship includes a job description built around the needs of the church and the gifts of the apprentice, on-going development through mentorship, access to The Way College classes, and meaningful opportunities to participate in the life of the church.
We are looking for individuals who have a deep love for Jesus and the church in Canada, and have graduated post-secondary or have 4+ years of ministry experience.
The apprenticeship runs from the beginning of September 2025 to the end of August 2026.
APPRENTICESHIP IN SPECIFIC AREAS OF MINISTRY
This is the 12-20 hours per week of practical ministry experience you’ll be paid for—attending meetings, coordinating activities, and supporting Sunday & midweek ministries. Throughout the year, you'll also complete 1-2 projects - such as event planning or content creation - with goals set in collaboration with your manager.
MENTORSHIP
Mentorship is primarily experienced in a small group setting where you are given opportunity to discuss your apprenticeship experience and ask questions about ministry. This includes apprenticeship meetings, lunches with pastoral team members, and regular meetings with your manager.
THEOLOGICAL & MINISTRY DEVELOPMENT
Apprentices will grow in theological knowledge and ministry development through engaging in weekly Staff Meetings, auditing one course with The Way College, and attending weekly college chapels.
