A Pastoral Word | May

Hello The Way Church,
Daniel, here. If we haven’t met yet, I am a part of the pastoral team in Strathcona and also oversee our Partnerships with local and global organizations, and Alpha each week in Vancouver.
As we close the chapter on April, and flip the page to May, I find myself full of gratitude as we uncover more of the story that God is writing in our church and city. There is much to celebrate together in this season as we reflect on the ways we scattered, and gathered as the people of God.
As we scattered throughout the last month, we saw members of our church care for one another as needs arose, many opened up their homes for neighbours and small groups, and there were distinct moments where people took first steps, and next steps in their discipleship to Jesus. We were also able to celebrate much as we gathered together as a church. We celebrated the end of the inaugural year of The Way College, a beautiful women’s night, and our first Alpha Launch Party.
Throughout each congregation, event, ministry, and in individual life, God is using the different arteries of our church body to display the power of community, within, and outside of the places in which we gather.
For some, community was found in the classroom. For others, community was the cradle in which they could rest their story. Meals were shared, questions welcomed, and wounds healed, revealing God's redemptive touch.
This season’s activities impacted me, not only because they showcased His presence in our midst, but also because they served as an apologetic for Christian community.
Let’s continue to be formed in Him, grounded in the community of which He is the Centre.
That is all for now.
“May he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.” Hebrews 13:21b
Bless you,
Daniel
